If youβre looking for delicious food and a warm atmosphere in LA, this is definitely a place worth visiting. Honestly, you canβt go wrong with anything you order here. The yakitori is absolutely delicious, and I always find myself wanting more. The other grilled dishes are also excellent, especially the shrimp and scallops. The onigiri are another favorite of mine. Nanbankan is one of those places Iβve been coming back to for years.

We got ~3 plates with sauce and rest with just salt. The ones with sauce just had way too much sauce on them. Ingredient quality was okay. The service was lacking, they took our order slow, the foods took forever to come out, and never checked if we were enjoying the food, etc.

A great spot for Japanese style skewers. Reservations are recommended. Every skewer and dish we got was amazing. Personal favorites were tongue, chicken gizzard, chicken skin, pork belly, and sea bass.

This is the type of restaurant that makes remember why LAβs dining scene is so elite. You feel like youβre instantly transported to Japan when you step in here. Itβs authentic, quality, efficient, and extremely reasonably priced. I have never had yakitori with such large skewer portions. You canβt go wrong here with a dish from my experience. Itβs a fun place for a group or just two people. Iβll definitely be back.

Last minute decision to eat and was craving yakitori. Upscale atmosphere and small quaint space. Good quality and flavors! Food was steaming hot and fresh (obviously). My least favorite was steak and they were sold out of the beef sliders. My husbandβs favorite was the cod. We pretty much tried everything off the menu, there were hits and a few misses. I liked the chicken skin, duck and pork belly. Didnβt love the steak. A great option is their dinner and it includes a variety of skewers (their most popular ones. Service was ok, a bit slow and it wasnβt busy at the time. We had to wave them down to ask for most things and their rice took an abnormally long time to arrive at the table. We brought our 4 year old and his review was β10/10β! He said he liked the rice the most LOL. Also, make a reservation! We called in ahead of time and luckily since it was a weekday and early dinner they gave us a table. It was definitely very crowded for dinner time.
